The City of Columbia is revitalizing one of its most iconic public spaces, Finlay Park, as a safe, welcoming, and vibrant gathering place in downtown Columbia. Long considered the heart of downtown Columbia, Finlay Park is a destination for leisure, recreation, and entertainment for residents and visitors alike.
The project includes updates to green spaces, new entertainment and event areas, upgraded playgrounds and fitness equipment, and outdoor amenity structures. Enhanced safety measures such as additional security cameras and call boxes will improve visitor experience, while an increased park ranger presence will help maintain a secure and inviting environment. This revitalization also features the total beautification of the park, creating a visually striking space that inspires community pride and connection.

The City of Columbia invites the community to join in celebrating the Grand Re-Opening of Finlay Park, the heart of downtown Columbia. This milestone weekend will highlight the park’s transformative revitalization, restoring one of the City’s most beloved landmarks and creating new spaces for recreation, entertainment, and connection.
